Why we started
TATY Community Learning began in 2020 after our team noticed a recurring gap in adult education: people had access to lots of information, but very few resources that translated information into repeatable practice. Many materials were either too academic to use on a Tuesday afternoon, or so simplified that learners could not tell what success looked like.
We started building short modules with clear learning outcomes, formative check-ins, and practical exercises that support transfer. The early work focused on communication and learning strategies because those topics show up everywhere: in workplaces, in community groups, and at home. Since then, the same approach has expanded into productivity, organization, and problem-solving programs, supported by worksheets and guided self-study materials.
The goal is not to create pressure or promise life changes. It is to provide a methodical learning environment where progress is observable and the next step is always clear.
Mission
Provide Canada-focused lifelong learning programs that make objectives explicit, practise skills through guided activities, and support retention through structured review.
How we design learning
We combine Bloom’s taxonomy for outcome clarity with spaced repetition and retrieval practice for retention. Activities include scenario prompts, short reflections, and templates that fit real schedules.

Our team
We keep the work grounded in adult learning practice: clear objectives, a mix of formative and summative assessment choices, and exercises designed for transfer. The team below reflects the roles that shape curriculum, workshops, and resource design.
Program Lead (M.Ed.)
Leads curriculum planning and outcome mapping for our core programs. For 10+ years, their work has focused on adult education design, formative feedback loops, and keeping learning objectives measurable without turning sessions into tests. Known for practical rubrics that make progress visible in plain language. Outside program cycles, they maintain our resource library and update templates based on facilitator notes.
Workshop Facilitator (CTDP)
Facilitates communication and collaborative learning sessions with a focus on psychologically safe practice. They have delivered workshops for 8+ years across community and professional settings, using scenario prompts, debrief questions, and structured turn-taking to keep discussions useful. Known for making feedback concrete through the “issue–impact–request” pattern and for adapting activities to accessibility needs. Their session notes feed directly into our continuous improvement reviews.
Learning Operations Coordinator (PMP)
Coordinates schedules, participant communications, and resource distribution across programs. With 7+ years in operations, they keep the unglamorous details running: attendance lists, material versioning, and follow-up timelines. They also design planning templates used in productivity-focused sessions, ensuring the exercises fit real calendars and don’t assume ideal conditions. Known for crisp checklists and a calm process for handling last-minute changes.
